General Conditions 1. The World Economic Forum publishes high resolution pictures on the Internet as a free-of-charge media service. This service is made available to the medias by the World Economic Forum, Geneva/Switzerland, and its photo agency swiss-image.ch. 2. The World Economic Forum distributes global or individual user names and passwords, that give access to the pictures of the Annual Meeting and other activities of the World Economic Forum. After the individual registration every entitled media partner receives a global password, to access to the entire of the picture archive. Global or individual passwords may be used only within the same editorial office. Apart from this group, further circulation of a password is prohibited. 3. The download entitled medias (newspapers, magazines, news-websites, tv-stations) and partners are allowed to publish pictures that they have got from this media photobase in the editorial part of their publication without paying a fee, as far as these general conditions are not broken in any way. 4. By the download entitled medias and partners receive the permission to publish the picture(s) once in the editorial part of their publication. 5. It is not permitted to store the obtained pictures electronically or in any other form. The digital pictures are to be deleted the latest after 30 days from the (editorial) computer or other electronical storage media. 6. It is not permitted to manipulate the pictures or to falsify the meaning of a picture in an image manipulation program. It is not permitted to alter the main message of a picture in any way. 7. Each published picture must carry the by-line "Photo by World Economic Forum" or "Photo by World Economic Forum/swiss-image.ch". By-lines reading "photo made available by/courtesy of" or "photo media service" are not acceptable. 8. It is not permitted to duplicate any pictures. It is also not permitted to trade the pictures, to circulate and sell them to photo agencies or to store them in a digital or analogous picture archive in order to resell them. Agencies may use the pictures and circulate them as Hand-Out (HO) pictures. The pictures may not be published on the Internet in a size larger than 800 pixels (longer side). 9. The use of these pictures for any other purpose (advertising e.g.) without written permission from swiss-image.ch or the copyright holder (photographer) is prohibited. The use of the pictures for advertising is in principle possible against payment of a fee. 10. The copyright and any other right of the pictures and texts of the World Economic Forum and swiss-image.ch remain in any case at the World Economic Forum and Swiss-Image GmbH or/and the originator of the pictures. 11. Any misuse of these pictures will lead to an access stop to this Media Photobase in consequence to civil action under article 61 ff of the copyright law (Urherberrechtsgesetz URG) as well as a charge under article 67 ff URG. 12. Everyone who logs in to this photobase with a user name and a password or gets other access to the photobase of the World Economic Forum/ swiss-image.ch and downloads one or several pictures automatically accepts these general conditions. 13. The judicial authority is Davos, Switzerland. Swiss law is applicable.
